Employee Spotlight – Raymond Hernandez
Raymond Hernandez's story at Âû²ÝÉçÇø is one of steady, self-driven growth, moving from an Engineering Services Technician doing takeoffs for the Fresno estimating team in 2013 to Senior EstimatorÌýtoday.Ìý
Raymond spent his first two years learning the craft ofÌýpublicÌýestimating from the ground up, sitting in on meetings andÌýtrainingsÌýalongside some of the best estimators in the region. By 2015 he was bidding his ownÌýscopesÌýof work. From there his path took some unexpected turnsÌý-Ìýa move into project engineering, a two-year stretch commuting to Stockton to work with the regional superintendent and underground teams, and two years managing the underground scope of a major master-planned community in Madera alongside Senior PM Bart Krieger. Each chapter put him in front of mentors who pushed him to grow in ways heÌýhadn'tÌýanticipated. In 2020 he raised his hand to return to estimating, and by 2021 he was bidding his own public works jobs.ÌýIn 2024 he asked directly for a path to Senior Estimator, and in 2025 he got there.Ìý
Raymond will tell you that the through-line of his entire career at Âû²ÝÉçÇø has been people. Every managerÌýhe'sÌýworked for invested in him, answered his questions, and supported his next move. When he asked for training, he got it. When he asked for new challenges, they came. When his family needed him, his team had his back without being asked. For anyone considering a career here, his advice is simple: come with a strong work ethic and be honest with your managers about where you want to go. In his experience, theyÌýwon'tÌýjust listen.ÌýThey'llÌýhelp you build the road to get there.Ìý
